Off to Harrisburg last month...COBY earned placements in the Novice weight pull, pulling up to 1000#. He has been in harness very little but is starting to get the hang of it in his new custom harness from Jen at Powderhounds Malamutes. He also got official word that he finished 2012 as the #1 AKC Rally Novice malamute (by the AMCA system). We are trying to gear up to move into Advanced work later this year, though we have planned a couple forays still in Novice to sort of "brush up" on competition skills.
On the health news front, RHYA has tested clear (non-carrier) of the gene causing Alaskan Malamute Polyneuropathy. As Istari kennels' Emrys also has tested clear, that means COBY is clear by parentage. More results to come soon..
